Pursuant to the requirements of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Subpart 5.206, this is a sources sought synopsis to be used in identifying potential sources for Addition of a 5th Boiler. This procurement will be to provide one complete gas/oil combination, self-contained packaged multiple drum water tube steam generator complete with burner assembly, rotary soot blower, and all necessary appurtenances, controls, and auxiliary equipment mounted on a common steel base. The unit shall have a continuous output capacity of 36,500 pounds of steam per hour at an operating pressure of 150 psig (design pressure of 200 psig) and a feedwater temperature of 227 degrees F and 175 psig. The feedwater temperature to the boiler from an economizer shall be 283 degrees F with an economizer exit gas temperature of 361 degrees F. The turndown ratio shall be 6:1 when using gas and 7:1 when using oil. The efficiency shall not be less than 81% with each type fuel. The maximum heat input shall be limited to 62,000 BTU percubic foot of furnace volume. The authority for this plan of action is U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) FAR 6.302-1(a)(1). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. If a firm feels it can provide this service, it should submit a qualification package.
