Provide all labor and material to replace existing chillers at the Main Post Office, Baton Rouge, LA, in accordance with the plans and specifications. The successful contractor will provide a temporary cooling system when the existing chillers are shut down. The back-up system provided by the contractor shall be in place no later than July 3, 1997. Estimated cost range $290,000.00-$340,000.00 and construction time estimated maximum of 120 calendar days. A 20% proposal bond is required. The successful contractor will be required to provide 100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds. All interested contractors are encouraged to attend a preproposal conference scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, 1997 at 1:30 p.m. at the Main Post Office in Baton Rouge, LA (jobsite). Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on May 13, 1997. This is a request for proposals, therefore, no public opening will be conducted. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any one offer, or relative standing of offeror will not be disclosed to anyone until after award of a contract is made and the request is submitted in writing. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available on April 21, 1997 at a cost of $25.00 per set (NON-REFUNDABLE) payable by check or money order only.
