NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal for the manufacture of 3 shipsets of lip -- engine air intake leading edge duct for its T-38A/N aircraft; delivery date Sep. 19, 1997. Included are two options, Option 1 for 29 additional shipsets (delivery of shipset number 1, September 1, 1998; shipset number 2, October 1, 1998; shipsets 3 through 29, 5 per month starting November 1, 1998), and option 2 for up to a maximum of 5 spare shipsets (delivery no later than May 28, 1999). Early delivery of shipsets is acceptable. This procurement is being conducted under the NASA MidRange Pilot Test Program approved by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about 04/28/97 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about 05/27/97. A sources sought synopsis for this acquisition was posted on 12/18/96. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Note "B". The solicitation will be available over the Internet. This document will be in ASCII or RTF format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
