NAWCAD Patuxent River, St. Inigoes is seeking sources interested in providing non-developmental item (NDI) MIL-STD-188-184/IP Tactical Gateway Data Controllers that can connect to a LAN and provide message connectivity via tactical wireless channels to outstation PCs connected to MIL-STD-188-184 compatible data controllers. The MIL-STD-188-184/IP Tactical Gateway Data Controller functions as a "tactical router" bridging two LANs, automatically and transparently routing TCP/IP traffic over the tactical channel using the MIL-STD-188-184 protocol and has dynamic routing capabilities that allow automatic discovery of communications paths as equipment is connected. It also provides connectivity between workstations on a LAN and computers connected to conventional MIL-STD-188-184 data controllers over a narrow band (3 to 25 kHz) tactical RF link. System computers run Data Terminal Software for Windows (DTS/Win v2.0) which provides file transfer and e-mail capabilities. The MIL-STD-188-184/IP Tactical GatewayData Controller shall not exceed 3.0 inch high by 5.75 inch wide by 8.75 inch deep. Weight shall not exceed 3.5 pounds.
