ANALYZER The US EPA, ORD, NHEERL research facility at Gulf Breeze,
Florida, seeks a high performance inductively coupled plasma mass
spectrometer (ICP-MS) suited for analytical quantitation and detection
of low levels (i.e parts per trillion PPT, or nanograms per liter) of
metals, metal oxides, and other elements in marine sediment samples,
tissue extract samples, and salt water samples. This system shall
comply with Federal Comminication Commission (FCC) rules regarding
radi-frequency (RF) generators. This system shall meet the requirements
set by the US EPA published methods (Method 200.8, sections 10.2.1,
10.2.2, and 10.6.1). The system shall consist of a computer-controlled,
inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer for the analysis of trace
metals in a wide range of samples and sample types, in particular sea
water. The system shall include all equipment necessary for the
maintenance of high vacuum and the introduction of samples by
conventional solution nebulization. Both 27.12 MHz sources and 40.68
MHz source will be considered. The instrument shall be priced FOB
GBERL, 1 Sabine Island Drive, Gulf Breeze, Florida, 32561. It is
anticipated that the standard warranty will be sufficient. However, all
terms and conditions shall be a one year warranty policy. The
contractor shall be required to provide training as specified in the
solicitation. Delivery is antcipated to be within 90 calendar days
after contract award. All responsible sources may submit a quotation
which shall be considered by USEPA. All requests for the RFQ must be in
