D -- MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION SOL RFP 553-17-97 DUE 053097 POC Lois J. Presnell Contractor shall provide all personnel, space and equipment (supplies, tools, materials, parts, hardware, software and telephone lines) to perform medical transcription services as stated herein, at the contractor's place of business, outside the premises of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Detroit, Michigan. The contractor shall provide training for authorized staff to assure appropriate use of the Rapid Telephone Access System (RTAS). This contract calls for complete contractor support which includes an off-site dictation system managed by the contractor and complete transcription support for the dictated medical documents. Service to include electronic transmission of transcription to the VA on a daily basis, Monday through Friday, with the exception of Federal Holidays. Reports shall be electronically transmitted into the hospital's mainframe, i.e. Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) via telecommunication lines. Connect charges will be at the contractor's expense. The protocol required for transmission of files to VISTA is ASCII. Only one modem is required for the VISTA telecommunication line transmission, the Baud rate to be used for the modem shall be 9600 N,8,1. Reports shall be transmitted in ASCII text format. (0118)
