AND CLASSIFICATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS TRANSPORTED IN SEAGOING VESSELS
The following notification is being circulated in accordance with
Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.131 1. Member to Agreement notifying:
MEXICO. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2
and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Ministry of Transport and
Communications. Agency or authority designated to handle comments
regarding the notification can be indicated if different from above. 3.
Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where
applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be
provided in addition, where applicable): Dangerous goods. 5. Title,
number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Draft Mexican
Official Standard NOM-009-SCT4-1994, Terminology and Classification of
Dangerous Goods Transported in Seagoing Vessels (10 pages, Spanish).
6. Description of content: The objective of this Mexican Official
Standard is to establish the classification and terminology in respect
of dangerous goods transported in seagoing vessels. It applies
tomanufacturers, carriers, vessel users, dockers and shipping agents,
port authorities, customs brokers and all such users or authorities,
for the purposes of maritime transport of the said dangerous goods. 7.
