19 -- SC-21 ADVANCED TUMBLEHOME HULLFORM TECHNICAL SESSION The Twenty-first Century Surface Combatant (SC-21) design team has been evaluating several alternative hull forms in support of cost and operational effectiveness analyses. A technical session is planned for May 15 at NSWCCD. The results of the analysis and testing of the First Phase and the approach for the Second Phase of the Advanced Tumblehome Hull Form Risk Management Plan will be presented at this briefing. Model runs for representative seakeeping performance of the large scale model will be performed in the Maneuvering and Seakeeping Tank (MASK) immediately following the presentation. Advanced Tumblehome Hull Form technical data and information regarding on going hull form developments will be available at the technical session. The results of the small scale seakeeping and resistance tests and the preliminary static and dynamic stability analyses will also be available. All data and information is classified as "For Official Use Only" (FOUO) and is treated as program sensitive. Those who are interested must be U.S. citizens and demonstrate a need to know in order to obtain information or attend the technical session.
