The intent of the work is to abate exposed asbestos and lead containing materials, demolish and reconstruct toilet rooms, interior partitions, doors, lighting, wiring, plumbing and mechanical systems, construct new walls and partitions, add ramps and stairs for handicap accessibility to all floors, add elevator at the center of the building serving all floors, provide new interior finishes, repair and paint windows, paint all interior surfaces and carpet most floors, and provide new lighting, power, LAN wiring and communications infrastructure. Also included is a minimal amount of exterior work; patching of concrete where spalled a certain exterior exposed beams, and insuring all opening windows are operable. Estimated cost of this procurement is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Completion time is 270 calendar days. This procurement will be issued as unrestricted with a 10 percent SDB evaluation preference. Estimated issue date of this procurement is 24 June 1997.
