consists of removal and disposal of 2 culverts. The road will be
reconstructed as a rolling drain dip that will serve as a ford during
high stream flows. The roadbed will be excavated below the designed
grade in the area of the ford and backfilled with riprap and topped
with crushed aggregate for a running surface. A row of gabions will be
placed along the lower side of the ford. The fill slope will be
ripraped where the stream flows. Construction staking will be performed
by the contractor. The excess excavation will be hauled to the dumped
on a nearby abandoned roadbed. Intermintent traffic with delays will be
allowed though the project site during construction. All riprap and
crushed aggregate needed for the project is "Government Furnished
Material". This is an unrestricted solicitation. Estimated price range
is between S25,000 -- S100,000. Estimated start work date is September
