Z -- ROOF REPLACEMENT PROJECT, NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART AND NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY, 7TH AND F STREETS NW, WASHINGTON DC SOL 9736SOL0027 POC Brian Biggs, Contract Cost/Price Analyst, 202-287-3668 The Smithsonian Institution is seeking proposals to furnish all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment required for the selective demolition and construction for the roof replacement project, National Museum of American Art and National Portrait Gallery (Old Patent Office Building), as set forth on the Drawings, sheets 1 through 79, and in the Specifications, pages 1 through 397, both dated March 10, 1997, for Project Number OPP 953402. The scope of work includes, at a minimum: Selective demolition, asbestos abatement, sitework, including underground utilities, exterior lighting, temporary fencing, and landscaping; poured-in-place concrete; new stone steps and paving; masonry cleaning and repair; structural steel and framing and metal rails; liquid membrane and metal roofing; vapor barrier and insulation systems; skylight framing and glazing; interior finishes; installation of bird deterrents; modification of existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. All firms interested in submitting a proposal in response to this solicitation need copies of the Request For Proposals (RFP) bid documents. The bidding documents (excluding drawings and specifications) are available upon written request from Smithsonian Institution, Office of Contracting and Property Management, 955 L'Enfant Plaza SW Suite P-114, Washington DC 20024, attn.: Code 28. Requests for bid documents should be written on company letterhead and have complete street address, telephone and facsimile numbers, and name of company representative (written requests for bid documents may be delivered to the above address by facsimile transmission to 202-287-2008). Interested parties may attend a pre-proposal meeting to be conducted at Smithsonian Institution. Date, time and location of pre-proposal meeting and due date and time for submsission of proposals will be included in the bid documents. All firms responding to this solicitation will be required to submit a business and technical proposal for evaluation.
