Charles Logan, Contract Specialist, (202) 927-7717 70 -- BATF requires
DB2 Database Administrator services. Our tax systems account for more
than $14 billion in revenue each year. The systems reside on an IBM
mainframe using DB2. The systems support bureauwide users who need
regular access for compliance and investigative purposes. Typically,
there are a minimum of 150 concurrent users at any given time. These
systms are subsidiary ledgers for ATF's general ledger. Continual
operation of the systems is critical to ATF's mission. Inability to
support these systems could have adverse effects on the Bureau. To keep
the systems fully operational and efficient, regular daily maintenance
and monitoring must be accomplished by a technically qualified DB2
Administrator. Otherwise, data become fragmented and may be irrevocably
damaged due to a lack of attention. Inability to timely process
applications, returns and claims would result in loss of revenue and
increased interest cost for the Bureau. The administrator will require
a Bureau suitability screening.This is a 100% small business set-aside
using SIC code 7379. Interested small businesses should request a copy
of solicitation number BATF 97-11 in writing. Telephone requests for
a copy of the solicitation will not be honored.Written requests should
be submitted to the address in block 7 of this synopsis or faxed to me
on (202) 927-8688. Charles Logan (0120) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0338 19970502\70-0004.SOL)
