The Defense Finance and Accounting Service Cleveland Contracting Support Office (DFAS-CL/CSO) intends to award a sole source procurement to Ameritech Custom Business Services,150 East Gay St., Columbus, OH 43215 for the acquisition of: An Ultra 1200 Sun Server hardware upgrade and Sun Solaris 2.5.1 operating system upgrade from an existing ELC platform as a turnkey solution for the migration of Pinnacle ACD (automated call distribution) software version 9.02 to ver. 11.01. The acquisition will involve a trade-in of the ELC platform currently in place and configuration of the Ultra 1200 Sun Serverupgrade to operate seamlessly with the Pinnacle ACD software. This item is to be installed as part of an existing telephone system and must be compatible in all respects with the existing system. The Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition is FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source or Only A Limited Number of Responsible Sources. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all quotations received within fifteen (15) days afterdate of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Quotations received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
