COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 2,1997 PSA#1837Department of Treasury (DY), Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Office
of Procurement, 14th & C Sts., S. W., 708-A, Washington, D. C. 20228 99 -- RIGGING BOARDS SOL BEP-97-22 DUE 073197 POC Contact Daniel F.
O'Brien, CPCM, Contract Specialist, 202/874-3144. The following
solicitation is subject to full and open competition. The Bureau of
Engraving and Printing (BEP) has a requirement for rigging boards to be
used in the manufacture of United States currency. The rigging boards
are to be used on De La Rue Giori brand I-8 and I-10 intaglio printing
presses. The source selection decision will be made on an overall best
value basis, as the BEP is seeking to maximize the tradeoff between
total life of the boards versus total life cycle costs. To that effect,
Offerors will be encouraged to provide multiple samples of varying
types of material. The BEP will test the rigging boards on press to
determine the average life of each type of board, as well as other
operating characteristics. Interested parties may be placed on the
mailing list by written request only. Said request may be mailed to the
addressee listed above, faxed to the addressee at (202) 874-2200, or
e-mailed to "daniel.obrien@BEP.treas.com". All written requests must
include the firm's size status (i.e., Large, Small, Minority, or
Women-Owned). Telephpne requests will not be honored. The BEP
anticipates that this procurement will result in multiple award,
fixed-price, delivery order contracts. In the interest of promoting
maximum competition, the BEP makes information relating to this and
many of its procurements available on its Internet Homepage address at:
