The fiber will be used to develop advanced ceramic matrix composites for engine applications. A stoichiometric (silicon to carbon ratio of 1) beta silicon carbide tow fiber with 10 micron diameter is required for the intended applications. Multifilament, continuous lengths of tow fiber are required for fabricating woven composites. The required quantity of fiber will be supplied in two batches: 20 kilogram in June, 1997 and 20 kilogram in September, 1997 (estimated delivery dates). This notice is for information only.
