capable of providing the following services are being sought. This is
NOT a notice of RFP issuance. The Radiation Oncology/Medical Physics
Services, USAF Medical Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB)
OH anticipates a competitive acquisition to provide the professional
medical and clinic support to perform technical/professional clinical
programs in radiation oncology therapy health care in support of the
mission of Radiation Oncology/Medical Physics Service at 74th Medical
Group, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Contractor care includes furnishing
all labor, transportation, teaching, reports, transcription of
dictation, preceptoring, supervision, and consultation. Care shall be
as comprehensive as Government supplied facilities, equipment and
support services permit, including all aspects of the fluoroscopic
simulation and delivery of external beam radiation therapy and
brachytherapy. In addition, the contractor must be capable of directly
providing alternate treatment facility possessing low energy (4-6mv)
and high energy (10-20mv) photon capabilities as well as a range of
electron energies for therapy. Alternate facility shall be used on
occasions when treatments cannot be performed at the 74th Medical
Group, WPAFB due to extended unscheduled maintenance on the linear
accelerator, the contractor shall provide for treatment of all current
Wright-Patterson patients until the Wright-Patterson linear
accelerator is operational. Treatment facility shall be within a 25
mile radius of Wright-Patterson AFB,OH. Period of performance is 01 Oct
97-30 Sep 98. Four one-year options may be awarded. In addition to the
information requested in the paragraph below entitled "Capabilities
Package", responding parties must also indicate their size status in
relation to the applicable Standard Industrial Classification (SIC)
Code, 8071, with an associated standard of $3.5M. Businesses including
their affiliates, whose gross annual receipts averaged over the
previous 3 fiscal years do NOT exceed $3.3M are considered small
businesses. This effort will be a follow-on to the current contract,
F33601-93-DJ024. Capabilities Package-Interested parties shall submit
a capabilities package, with two (2) copies of the cover letter, that
is brief and consise, yet clearly demonstrates: a. Ability to meet the
above stated requirements as well as sufficiently qualified personnel
meeting all health requirements. b. Provide proof of education,
experience and board certification of personnel (Radiation Therapy
Physicist, Medical Physicist, Radiation Oncology Nurse, Dosimetrist,
Radiation Therapy Technologist, Medical Transcriptionist and Patient
Transporter). c. Describe your facility and type equipment (must
possess low energy (4-6mv) and high energy (10-20mv) photon
capabilities as well as a range of electron energies for therapy) being
used as our alternate facility, also give location (shall be within 25
mile radius of the Medical Center at Wright-Patterson AFB). d.
Malpractice history. e. Capability of providing replacement staff. The
capabilities package should present clear evidence that interested
party is fully capable of providing the required services and as such
may contain any information the interested part feels is relevant.
Responses must not exceed 30 double-spaced, 12 pitch/10-point
not-to-exceed 12 characters per inch, typed, 8.5 x 11 inch pages. All
materials submitted in response to this Sources Sought must be received
no later than 19 May 97. Include fax and email information and identify
if your interest is to act as prime contractor, subcontractor, or

this acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsmanis to receive and
communicate serious concerns from potential offerors when an offeror
prefers not to use established channels to communicate his/her concern
during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. Potential
offerors should use established channels to request information, pose
questions, and voice concerns before resorting to use of the Ombudsman.
