COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 2,1997 PSA#1837EMPLOYMENT REPORTS ON SPECIAL DISABLED VETERANS & VETERANS OF THE
VIETNAM ERA SPACE AND NAVAL WARFARE SYSTEMS COMMAND: EMPLOYMENT REPORTS
ON SPECIAL DISABLED VETERANS & VETERANS OF THE VIETNAM ERA: Attention
all SPAWAR Contractors!!! The FY 97 DOD Appropriations Act, PL 104-208,
section 8118, mandates that all DOD contractors be notified of the
potential penalties resulting from failure to comply with the
requirement to submit annual employment reports on special disabled
veterans and veterans of the Vietnam era. This requirement is inherent
in all contracts which exceed $10,000 and is invoked by the clause at
FAR 52.222-37, Employment Reports on Special Disabled Veterans and
Veterans of the Vietnam Era. Per this clause, you must submit this
report annually on a form titled "Federal Contractor Veterans'
Employment Report VETS-100," to the Department of Labor. Penalties for
failure to comply can include contract termination as well as
suspension and debarment from future government contract, so submission
is critical. Questions concerning the content of the VETS-100 report
should be directed to the VETS-100 Processing Center at (334) 242-2028.
For further information about veterans' employment emphasis under
Federal Contracts, you may contact Ms. Eileen Connors at the Office of
the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Veterans' Employment and
Training, (202) 219-9110. SUJECT: CALIFORNIA AND ARIZONA LEGISLATIVE

of the contract or grant as well as suspension or debarment from future
