The work includes construction of an approximately 1400 square meter ship model engineering and support facility, including all supporting utilities. The facility will be constructed over Lake Pend Oreille. The foundation is pile supported with concrete pile caps and pre-cast concrete deck panels. The approximately 16 meter high building has a steel superstructure and steel siding. Facilities interior to the building include a pair of 80 metric tonne synchronized bridge cranes, a 4.5 metric tonne bridge crane, and miscellaneous heating, ventilation, electrical, and other utilities to support the operation of the building. Work includes construction of a bridge to access the facility and various utility extensions to support the facility. Estimated cost range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 1541. The related small business size standard is $17 million. Offerors, if a large business concern, shall submit a subcontracting plan. Plans and specificationswill be available on or about 19 May 1997. There will be a non-refundable charge of $95 for plans and specifications.
