Work shall include, but is not limited to: furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and services necessary to perform all work required in accordance with specifications, and as indicated on the drawings. Work required consists of: the conversion of an existing theater into a physical fitness, demolition of existing spaces, modifying the structure to support the installation of a level floor, upgrading the mechanical and electrical system, repairing the roof, constructing offices, gear issue room, lobby men and women's locker rooms, showers, toilet area, laundry room, aerobics area, and free weights/cardiovascular area. The project involves both asbestos and lead abatement, sitework, landscaping and the construction of a new front entrance. The construction project is comprised of architectural and civil work, structural framing/foundations, utility connections, electrical service, fire alarm system, plumbing and HVAC requirements. AMENDMENT TO THE PROPOSED PROJECT: The magnitude of the proposed contract including base bid, and five options is between $1 million and $5 million. The project consist of base bid to Alter/Repair Gateway Physical Fitness Center with a performance period of 245 days, and the following five options: Option 1-Canopy and Windows with a performance period of 56 days, Option 2-Landscaping, Service Drive, Grading, Trash Bin Enclosure, Bollard Fixtures, Underground Electrical Conduits with a performance period of 89 days, Option 3- New Built-Up Roof with a performance period of 74 days, Option 4- Public Address System, Rubber Floor Tiles, Mirrors, Signage with a performance period of 56 days, Option 5-Sauna, Whirlpool with a performance period of 59 days. Any number of options may be awarded at the time of award, or up to 120 days after award. The performance period for each option will extend from the day the contractor is given notice to accomplish the work, through completion of that option. There is no sequence of priority associated with each option. The government reserves the right to execute any options selected, or to eliminate any or all options. Tentative date of issue is 06 May 97, with a tentative response date of 06 Jun 97. The proposed acquisition is under full and open competition. The S.I.C.
