12 -- ADVANCED COMBAT DIRECTION SYSTEM (ACDS) BLOCK 1 SOL N00024-97-R-5494 POC Michael A. Harris, Contract Specialist, (703) 602-8000 ext. 592 The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue Solicitation, N00024-97-R-5494 to provide for the CVN 68 and LHD 7 architectural and system engineering design efforts for the ACDS Block 1 and to provide an FY98 option for continued integration efforts with the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) program, Theater Ballistic Missile Defense (TBMD) program, and Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) programs. The Advanced Combat Direction System (ACDS) is a Command, Control and Communications system intended for deployment on Non-Aegis Navy combatants. The ACDS Block 1 is required to integrate shipboard surveillance information, tactical communications, mission/warfare area control, and embedded training . This will be a modification to Contract N00024-94-C-5428, Hughes Aircraft Company (HAC), of Fullerton, CA is the designer and sole manufactuer of this system. See Note 22. (0121)
