AIC-10 Interphone System ea. Applicable to: Kc-135. Item 0002 17.
Potential Sources Sought -- This is not a request for proposal. The Air
Force is considering a replacement for the current AIC-10 Interphone
System utilized in -135 aircraft. Replacement candidates must be Non
Developmental Items (NDI) capable of utilizing existing aircraft
wiring. System Functions: (1) The system shall allow monitoring of and
transmission on 1-VHF, 1 SATCOM, and 2-UHF and 2-HF com radios; it
shall also allow monitoring of VOR, TACAN, market beacon, and ILS
navigation aids; and monitoring of engine stall, EGPWS, TCAS, RVSM and
related direct signal aural warning indicators. (2) System must
include ability to address passengers and crew through a speaker system
in the crew compartment and cargo compartment. Audio transmissions
shall be intelligible at all operational ambient noise levels. (3) Each
monitored radio must have a separate volume control. Station Functions:
(1) Monitor/transmit interphone capability shall be provided at all
cargo compartment (2) and ground crew member. (2) stations. (2) The
crew compartment stations must receive prioritized engine stall, EGPWS,
TCAS, RVSM, and related direct signal aural warning indications. (3)
The crew, boom, and cargo compartment stations must have a "call"
capability, allowing crew members to direct a system wide interphone
priority overriding other radio signals. (4) Selective monitoring of
ground navigational aids is required at all crew compartment stations.
Definition: Crew compartment stations consist of both pilot positions,
the navigator station, the instructor station, and boom cockpit
station. Definition: Boom operator compartment stations consist of boom
operator station and instructor boom operator station. Any source
