COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 5,1997 PSA#1838EPA, ADP Placement Section (3803F), 401 M St. SW, Washington, DC
20460-0001 70 -- BGS SYSTEMS BEST/1-DATA CENTER SOL BEST/1-DATACENTER SW DUE
051997 POC Jesse Kingsberry, 202-260-6080 The EPA intends to place an
contract with BGS Systems, Inc., for continuing maintenance and
software upgrades as available for its BEST/1-DATACENTER software
suite. The anticipated contract will contain a base period and four
options totaling 60 months. This software allows detailed modeling of
multiple systems, multiple images, and multiple centers in an
integrated modeling environment. It eliminates the need for the
development of independent, stand-alone models under the currently
installed BEST/1-MVS environment, and the tedious and time-consuming
manual workload balancing and impact analysis. EPA believes no other
source is capable of maintaining and providing technical version
updates and support for this product suite other than the stated
source, due to the proprietary and trade-sensitive nature of the
software. Interested vendors offering identical or equivalent software
maintenance and technical support must identify their interest and
fully document their capability to meet the agency's requirement by
forwarding a detailed response within 15 calendar days of this notice.
All request must be in writing and include company name, point of
contact, telephone number, and sufficient technical documentation for
the Government to determine the ability to meet the requirement.
Responses shall be submitted to: Environmental Protection Agency,
Attention: Jesse Kingsberry (3803F), 401 M Street, S.W., Washington,
D.C. 20460. Vendors' response shall be in writing and reference
BEST/1-DATACENTER software. Telephone request will not be honored. See
