R -- VISN MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION SERVICE SOL 544-050-97 DUE 061697 POC Contract Specialist, Virgil Thompson, (803) 695-6783 Provide all labor, materials, and equipment required for transcription of medical dictation material for VA Medical Centers located at Atlanta, GA; Augusta, GA; Birmingham, AL; Charleston, SC; Columbia, SC; Montgomery/Tuskegee, AL; and Tuscaloosa, AL. These medical reports include discharge summaries, compensation and pension examinations, Persian Gulf examinations, operative reports, non-operative reports, outpatient progress notes, history and physical examination reports, cardiology reports, neurology reports, radiology reports, surgical pathology reports, cytology reports, autopsy reports, consultation reports, miscellaneous, and mental status exams. Material to be transcribed is dictated by many different physicians requiring adaptation to variations in accents, speech, tone, voice, volume, delivery, pronunciation and enunciation which includes highly technical terminology and requires an extensive knowledge of specialized vocabularies. Medical dictation will be transcribed and up loaded directly into the originator's Medical Center(s) Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA). Request for Proposal (RFP) will be available on or about 5/15/97.
