Z -- CONSTRUCT METAL AWNING SOL F41652-97-Q0243 DUE 051697 POC SrA Michael Holder 915-696-2360 or Mr Ron McGuire 915-696-2679 The contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, materials, equipment and performance of operations required to construct a metal awning at Dyess AFB, TX. The contractor shall perform to the standards in this contract and all current industry standards. The contract shall construct a Southwestern Style roof at facility 11955. The canopy shall be 84 feet by 16 feet and have at least 3 feet of rise. Metal screen shall be constructed to hide framing from the second floor windows. The portion of the screen visible from the from the interior shall be painted to match interior paint; use off white (FSC 27778). The portion of the metal screen visible from underneath the canopy shall be painted to match the underside of the canopy; use off white (FSC 27778). The height of the awning shall be sufficient to provide at least 8 feet of clearance from the patio deck to the lowest part of the awning. The canopy will be free standing and supported by columns placed in pairs 16 feet apart, with bays to be 12 feet apart (to match structural grid already in place). The columns shall be 4 inch by 4 inch metal posts, painted to match canopy (FSC 26044). Use 8 inch C purling rafters, 4 inch C purling attached to roof panels, U panel roofing with exposed screws. Paint framework off white (FSC 27778) before attaching roofing panels. Install 3 light fixtures, wiring in conduit. Existing awning must be torn down and disposed of off base, at the contractor's expense. The canopy must resist normal leakage and wind loads of 80 mph/Gust upto 100 mph. The canopy exterior metal shall be constructed of at least 22 gauge metal paneling and fascia. The paneling and fascia shall be colored either MBCI Charcoal Gray, (FSC 26044) with Dexstar 850 Finish or SSR Patrician Bronze (FSC 26044) with KXL Kynar Finish or equivalent. The canopy must be lighted with light fixtures meeting the following specifications: 12 inch X 12 inch 2 and 1/4" standard drop in prismatic diffusers (equal or equivalent to RUUD model MCL0405-D), 50 watt metal halide direct mount. The contractor must provide shop drawings to the Contracting Officer and received approval before proceeding on the project. A pre-bid site visit is scheduled for 09 May 97. Bid opening will be on or about 16 May 97. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commericial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice.
