842-7507. The government solicits industry comments on a draft
Statement of Work for an Enhanced Recovery System (ERS) for subsonic
subscale aerial targets. The government is exploring the feasibility
for enhancing the recovery system/methods currently in place for the
various armed services subscale aerial targets (primarily the MQM-107
and BQM-74). The statement of work objective will be the feasibility of
lower operational costs through more accurate landings and reduced
damage to the target vehicles. The current system relies on free fall
parachutes that are subject to prevailing wind conditions at the site.
Draft statement of work with basic MQM-107 performance parameters will
be available for distribution on or about 8 May 97 by datafaxing a
request to the contracting officer at (205) 876-2590. Comments must be
received on or before 27 May 97. Datafax comments are acceptable.
