Higginbotham (205) 235-7323 (Site Code DAAC01) All plant, labor and materials to evaluate the current strength of the existing girders and structure and develop a written plan for upgrading and install new equipment to upgrade the crane to the required 30 ton capacity. The hoist, hoist drive system, hoist controls, and wiring for the existing bridge crane shall be replaced with a new 30 ton hoist to contain new controls and wiring. The new hoist shall be turn key and capable of operation at the time of completion. This will include but will not be limited to the hoist cable and hook. All new equipment furnished shall match the existing crane, requiring little or no rework to the existing crane structure. The contractor must adhere to all OSHA, NFPA, CMAA, and NELC. The crane shall conform to CMAA 70 class C, Duty Class H4, Load Class L4, for operation in nonhazardous environment with temp of 98 degrees to 5 degrees F. This is a sole source negotiated procurement with Birmingham Crane Co., 25 West Park Circle, Birmingham, AL 35201 in accordance withFAR 6.302-1 and 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). Drawings for this crane are proprietary. Firms that recognize and can perform this service are encouraged to identify themselves within 15 days from the date of this publication, and provide supporting evidence to the Contracting Officer which would permit their participation in the current or future solicitations.
