This contract will provide for the repair, modification and/or overhaul of twenty-four (24) separate components of the APG71 Heads-Up Displayutilized on F/A-18D aircraft. Only the five (5) highest cost repair items are identified in this announcement.Note that the quantities listed are maximum cumulative quantities for the entire three year period. Award of the long-term contract itself will not provide funding for any actual repairs. Rather, repairs will be contracted for through award of individual delivery ordersagainst the LTC. Note especially that the government intends to negotiate with Kaiser ElectronicSan Jose, CA, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and only known approvedsource. Technical data, such as drawings, specifications, and test, evaluationand repair procedures procedures, needed to perform the required services is not available from the government. Additionally, the performance of these services requires peculiar test and repair equipment that is not available from the government. Any other source which has repaired these items previously, and/or has legally obtained the applicable data and hasthe necessary repair capability, may seek repair source qualification approval.
