COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 6,1997 PSA#1839U.S. Dept. of Commerce, NOAA, WASC, Acquisition Management Division
WC3, 7600 Sand Point Way NE, Bin C15700, Seattle, WA 98115-0070 58 -- SOL. WASC7-1234, HIGH RESOLUTION BATYMETRIC SURVEY SOUNDER SOL
WASC7-1234 DUE 051597 POC Bernice Robenson, (Voice) (206) 526-6043, FAX
(206) 526-6025 Sources sought to provide a High Resolution Echo
Sounder for Bathymetric Surveys. The depth of the water directly
beneath the sounder's tranducer is the primary data of interest. The
sounder shall be capable of detecting and digitizing depths greater
than 1300m or full ocean depth. The sounder will be used on ocean-going
ships. Therefore, it must be rugged enough to withstand the marine
environment. It shall automatically acquire the bottom and continually
track the bottom without adjustment. Areas to be surveyed have rapidly
changing bottoms and will be surveyed under varying sea conditions.
During all of these conditions, the bathymetric sounder must maintain
a digitized lock on the bottom. It is expected that the digitizer will
not lose lock as ranges and phases are automatically changed. Send
request for solicitation of WASC-7-1234 no later than 05/15/97. This is
a simplified acquisition. (0121) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0192 19970506\58-0009.SOL)
