Offers will be due date of 28 May 97. This acquisition will be accomplished under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and, as such, is limited to small firms. All other firms are ineligible to submit offers. The magnitude of this project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00 with an estimated performance period of forty-five (45) calendar days. In general, the work requires the replacement of defective electric power poles (with government furnished poles) in the Manzano Weapons Storage Area. It involves a total of fifteen poles, seven in-line poles, one end pole and seven corner poles. Eight poles have communications lines attached to them and two require the removal and reinstallation of pole mounted transformers. When installing new poles, the contractor is expected to replace: any wooden arms with fiberglass arms (present fiber glass arms are to be reused); hardware and insulators; and supply new 3/8th inch galvanized steel guywire and attachments (either preform wrap or automatic) as required. Poles removed by the contractor will be placed in an off-base landfill by the contractor.
