NETHERLANDS: SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE IMPLEMENTATION ORDER ON QUALITY REQUIREMENTS FOR SYRUPS The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.173. 1. Description of content: The objective of the second amendment to the Implementation Order is to refer to the Food and Drugs Act Order on Food Additives and the implementation regulations based thereon regarding the use of additives in syrups, rather than the current reference to the "Food and Drugs Act Regulation on the Use of Food Additives in Soft Drinks and Syrups". 7. Objective and rationale: Reference to the new Food and Drugs Act Order has become necessary because the specific regulation for soft drinks has been replaced by a general regulation for the use of additives which is based on the EU directives regarding additives which have recently been transposed into Dutch legislation. The present amendment to the Implementation Order therefore brings the regulation and the Implementation Order regarding quality requirements for syrups in line with current EU legislation. 8.
