The tanks range in size from 800 to 20,000 gallons and were used to store petroleum products at the former Aiken Army Airfield. The work will consist of excavating and removing the tanks, removing and disposing of hazardous materials from the tanks, excavating and disposing of contaminated soil within five feet of the tanks, disposing of the tanks, and restoring the tank sites.
