GAS TURBINE PROGRAM SOL N00024-97-R-4167 POC 02424E, T. Mounts,
703-602-0202 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends issue to
solicitation N00024-97-R-4167 on a sole source basis to General
Electric Company, Inc., 1 Neumann Way, MD S-155, Cincinnati, OH 45215
to provide engineering services for the LM2500 Series Gas Turbine
Program. The solicitation will provide for up to 30,000 labor hours of
engineering services in support of the LM2500 Series Gas Turbine
Component Improvement Program (CIP), and up to 15,000 labor hours of
Maintenance Engineering and Technical reviews, evaluations,
investigations, surveys, and technical data reviews and updates in
connection with the LM2500 Series Gas Turbine Integrated Logistics
Support (ILS) Program. This work will be performed during FY98, with
options for 4 additional years. Allison Engines Company is the original
equipment manufacturer and the only company that possesses the
necessary technical data, expertise, equipment, and proprietary
information to perform these requirements. No other source has the
technical qualifications and the necessary resources to perform the
work described herein, nor will any other supplies or services satisfy
the Navy's requirements. Companies interested in subcontracting
