GAS TURBINE/GENERATOR PROGRAM SOL N00024-97-R-4166 POC 02424E, T.
Mounts, 703-602-0202 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to
issue solicitation N00024-97-R-4166 on a sole source basis to Allison
Engines Company, Inc., 2001 S. Tibbs Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46241 to
provide engineering services. The solicitation will provide for up to
15,000 labor hours of engineering services in support of the Allison
501 Series Gas Turbine/Generator Component Improvement Program (CIP),
up to 10,000 labor hours of engineering services in support of the
Allison Generator Set Product Improvement Program (PIP), and up to
6,000 labor hours of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS), technical
reviews, evaluations, investigations, surveys, and technical data
reviews and updates for Allison manufactured or powered Generator Sets.
This work will be performed during FY98, with options for 4 additional
years. Allison Engines Company is the original equipment manufacturer
and the only company that possesses the necessary technical data,
expertise, equipment, and proprietary information to perform these
requirements. No other source has the technical qualifications and the
necessary resources to perform the work described herein, nor will any
other supplies or services satisfy the Navy's requirements. Companies
