COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 7,1997 PSA#1840

INDUSTRY DAYS CONFERENCE The U.S. Army Missile Command (MICOM) is continuing its series of Business/Industry Days for both large and small businesses. The purpose of MICOM Business/Industry Days is to provide a forum for open exchange of information of mutual interest between the MICOM Commanding General (and his key staff) and industry representatives. The next session will be for small and large business and is scheduled for 9-10 Jun 97. The sessions are planned to be held at the Sparkman Center Auditorium located at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. The theme of this program is "Doing Business with Commands in Transition," and both missile and aviation issues will be discussed. Other topics of interest include Military Specifications and Standards Transition Report, Technology Transfer Program Successes, Small Business Overview, Acquisition Streamlining Initiatives, Best Value Contracting, the AMCOM Contracting Organization, transitioning MICOM contracts to AMCOM, transitioning ATCOM aviation contracts to AMCOM, ATCOM PATS contracts transition, and other relevant topics. Attendees are encouraged to be senior industry personnel such as CEO's GM's and/or Presidents of their respective firms. If your firm is interested, we ask you to respond by mail or DATAFAX 205/955-7753 to the MICOM Ombudsman, AMSMI-OB, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898-5000. We will accept reservations on a first come-first served basis acknowledging a need to have an appropriate mix of small and large businesses. We will also provide you with an agenda of the session. We believe this conference is timely and very important to both this command and industry as we move toward the Aviation and Missile Command environment.
