Benham Creek Bridge & FDR 25 North, Gifford-Pinchot National Forest,
Lewis County, Washington. This solicitation consists of a bridge site
and 3 roadway repair sites. The work includes grading, drainage,
riprap, base, paving, MSE walls, and a 39 meter 3-span curved concrete
bridge consisting of WSDOT W50G prestressed girders & cast-in-place
concrete deck. The bridge is supported on 2 single column piers founded
on spread footings on rock. Project includes: construction scheduling;
construction survey & staking; contractor sampling & testing; removal
of temporary bridge; 1,150 metric ton minor asphalt concrete; 2
hectares clearing/grubbing; 274 cu meters structural concrete; 4 ea
precast prestressed concrete structural members I-beams WSDOT W50G
(length 15,640 millimeters); 8 ea precast prestressed concrete
structural members I-beams WSDOT W50G (length 11,154 millimeters);
1,100 cu meters government furnished untreated aggregate course; 600
millimeters pipe culvert; 150 meters silt fence; 23,000 cu meters
excavation/embankment; 380 sq meters mechanically stabilized earth
walls; 240 meters guardrail; 12,000 kilograms reinforcing steel; 3,850
cu meters class 5 riprap; 1,000 hr flagger; 1,750 meters pavement
markings; 20 slry units hydraulic seeding/mulching; and other smaller
items of work. This project is located approximately 17 miles south of
Randle, WA. Work shall be completed by September 15, 1998. Estimated
price range is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Presolicitation

concurrently with the publication of this synopsis. -- -- The following
applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business
Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small
and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
