eighteen month, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity Contract, with
an eighteen month option period. This contract is for on- call asbestos
removal. All bidders must be pre-qualified to do asbestos abatement on
Hill AFB, and must have current asbestos contractor certification as
per most recent Utah Air Conservation rules, prior to submitting bids.
Information on pre-qualifying can be obtained through the
Bio-Environmental office (801)777-1171, Mr. Chris Hofelmeier. In
addition, all contractors must be licensed in the state of Utah to do
asbestos abatement work and must carry active occurrence type liability
insurance while performing any work under this contract. The work will
consist of abatement or removal of asbestos containing materials,
transporting and disposing of asbestos containing materials in approved
landfills, and occasionally, encapsulation of damage asbestos
containing material. The contractor will be guaranteed a minimum of
$150,000 over the life of the contract. A bid bond of $30,000.00 is
required with the proposal. A performance bond of $150,000.00 will be
required from the successful contractor upon award. Estimated range:
$1,000,000 -- $5,000,000 Performance period: to be determined on each
order The approximate issue/response date will be 23 May 97. No
telephone requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly
from the requestor are acceptable. All responsible sources solicited
may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered.
Request for copies of solicitations must reference the entire
solicitation number, including purchasing office identification number.
To expedite your request, limit the number of individual solicitation
numbers requested per letter to not more than 10. Don't request
information on this requirement until after the issue date. An
Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or
potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this
acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the
authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to
communicate contractor, concerns, issues, disagreements, and
recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When
requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the
source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the
evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Interested
