Phone (703)604-2968 This class synopsis is to inform the general public
that the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM), during the period of
2 June 97 to 25 August 98, may place various delivery orders with
Raytheon Company, Electronics Systems Division (Raytheon), Portsmouth,
RI, to perform engineering and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
studies to investigate the feasibility, practicality, or desirability
of improvements to the Joint Tactical Combat Training System (JTCTS)
capabilities. Where such improvements are indicated, Raytheon may be
tasked to make such improvements. NAVAIR may place delivery orders with
Raytheon requiring it to design, manufacture, assemble, integrate,
test, install, and certify the results of an engineering study. These
delivery orders will be placed under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA)
N00019-96-G-0155 with Raytheon for cumulative value not to exceed ten
(10) million dollars. Raytheon is the sole designer, developer, and
manufacturer during the Engineering, Manufacturing, and
Development(E&MD) phase of the JTCTS program, and the studies require
access to Raytheon proprietary data. Only Raytheon has the specialized
experience and technical capability to perform these tasks. See note
