Younkins (301) 619-2503 (Site Code DAMD17) The Department of the Army anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract for services to conduct a quality assurance program for monitoring immunophenotyping of human blood lymphocytes by flow cytometry. All identified DOD Medical Centers performing helper and suppressor lymphocyte determinations for staging HIV infected military personnel shall be tested bimonthly utilizing contractor provided proficiency test samples. The results of which shall be analyzed by the Contractor. In addition, a database shall be maintained containing all facility identification, instrumentation, reagent, specimen data and proficiency results; and the statistical data comparing each participant's results with the group of DOD participants. Pursuant to the scope of work, the Contractor shall develop a quality assurance program for flow cytometry consisting of the following two (2) components: (1) Shipment of proficiency test samples and analysis of proficiency test data; and (2) Conducting Flow Cytometry Quality Assurance workshops. The base contract period will be for one (1) year with four (4) one year options, if exercised by the Government.
