Herting The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) intends to award a sole source contract to seven (7) existing Field Benefit Administrators currently performing participant administration services in accordance with Title IV of ERISA for defined benefit pension plans. The services being provided include, but are not limited to: responding to inquiries; reviewing and processing new retirement applications; calculating final guaranteed benefits; adjusting benefits; processing death notifications including placing survivoring spouses/beneficiaries in pay status; authorizing payment updates; providing notifications in accordance with plan provisions; monitoring plan earnings limitations; establishing permanent plan and participant files; and administering plans in accordance with Title IV of ERISA. This is a continuation of work being provided by an existing provider. The provider's capabilities and knowledge are unique in that: 1. The principal/owner was a benefit administrator for the primary plan currently under administration and has experience with all of the plans being administered. 2. The provider's experience with and knowledge of the primary plan sponsor's personnel practices provides a unique perspective and understanding of the plan provisions. This is not a request for proposal. Interested parties must submit a capability statement to PBGC within 30 days from date of publication of this synopsis.
