This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number N00421-97-R-1370 is issued as a request for proposal. (RFP) The incorporated document and provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-45 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-11. This will be a Brand Name Mandatory, Firm Fixed Price contract and a small business set aside. The applicable SIC is 3829. This equipment is needed to fulfill an initial outfitting requirement for the Consolidated Automated Support Systems (CASS). Ruska gages are required by each CASS Station and System to calibrate the imbedded standards in the CASS Stations and Systems. Ruska is the only company that can provide pressure gages that are both digital and communicate directly via the IEEE-488 GPIB (General Purpose Interfare Bus) standard. The contract line items are as follows: CLIN 0001 -- 7 each of Ruska Part Number 6220-19 W/IEEE Portable Pressure Gage w/Warranty Label, CLIN 0002 -- 7 each of Ruska Part Number 6220-50 W/IEEE Portable Pressure Gage w/Warranty Label, CLIN 0003 -- 14 each of Calibration/Warranty stickers which include the following: "Date Calibrated:, Date Due Calibration:, Warranty:, Contract#". Warranty to be one year minimum. Factory Calibration to be in conformance to ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 or NIST traceable. A written notice of award or acceptance of an offer, mailed or otherwise furnished to the successful offeror within the time of acceptance specified in the offer, shall result in a binding contract without further action by either party. Before the offer's specified expiration time, the Government may accept an offer (or part of an offer) whether or not there are negotiations after its receipt, unless a written notice of withdrawal is received before award.
