synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
format in Subparts 12.6 and 13.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation to be issued, proposals are being requested from
this announcement, a written solicitation will not be issued. The
Request for Quote number is N00244-97-Q-8497. This solicitation and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal
Acquisition Circular 45. This solicitation is issued on an a restricted
basis for the following item: (1) each Modular Building/Trailer with
wheels and axles, 1440 sq.ft. (approximate). Standard specifications
are listed as following: Size: 24' x 60', Unit is to be "New", Floors:
carpeted w/ 26oz. carpeted (color to be determined later), Walls: 1/4"
pre-finished wood paneling, Ceiling: 8' suspended ceiling w/ 2' x 4'
acoustic panels, Roof: .30 Ga. galvanized metal, Siding: 7/16" Inner
Seal grooved 8" o/c. painted tan w/ brown trim, Doors: (2) each, 3' x
6'8" metal clad hollow core door with deadbolt, Windows: (9) each 4' x
3' sliding windows with bronze aluminum frames, Lighting: Diffused
fluorescent lighting w/ 2' x 4' recessed fixtures, HVAC: Electric
heating and air conditioning thermostatically controlled, approximately
12,000 BTU per 250 sq.ft., Insulation: Floor R-11, Exterior walls R-11,
Roof R-19, Electrical: 110/220V single phase 100 amp subpanel per
"unit", 110V duplex receptacles Restroom/Plumbing: not required,
Interior Partitions: 188 Lineal feet (approximate) non-insulated, to
match interior wood paneling per floor plan, Code: California
Department of Housing approved type V non-fire rated, B-2 occupancy,
Title 25 commercial coach. Each structure will bear the California
D.O.H. insignia certifying State compliance. Design and construction is
to be in accordance with typical industry standards and the most recent
version of the Uniform Building Code, (U.B.C.), Uniform Mechanical Code
(U.M C.), and the National Electric code (N.E.C.) as adopted by the
California Department of Housing (D.O.H.), Skirting: to match outside
of building, from ground up to the trim on the frame, Metal steps: (2)
each w/ back and side rail, Delivery and Set-up is required for this
modular building/trailer. There are to be a total of (9) rooms in this
structure, (4) 10' x 14', (5) 10' x 12', (1) 4' x 8' storage area,
Hallway space is to be 4' wide, (1) Complete trailer hitch assembly is
required and will be located between the two A/C units which will be
located on the same end of the structure. The power source will be
located on the opposite end of the structure. A basic diagram of the
proposed structure is available by request from the Bid Officer or
Contracting Officer. Delivery of this item will be to Commanding
Officer, Deep Submergence Unit, Bldg. 497, NAS, North Island San Diego,
CA 92135, delivery is required (45) days after receipt of order or
sooner. Acceptance will be at Destination. Prospective offerors should
provide the following information: current pricing, delivery time,
payment terms, cage code, Duns/Bradstreet number and taxpayers
identification number. The following provisions and clauses are
applicable and are hereby incorporated into the solicitation by
reference and will be provided by the contracting officer in full text
upon request: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors Commercial Items
applies. Addendum clause FAR 52.215-18, Facsimile Proposals also
applies. Offerors are required to complete and include a copy of the
following provisions with their proposals: FAR 52.212-3, Offeror

Contract terms and Conditions Commercial Items, FAR 52.211-5, addendum
New Material, FAR 52.219-6, Notice of Small Business Set-Aside, FAR
52.212-5, Addendum to FAR 52.212-1, Paragraph (b)(5): Offerors shall
provide an express warranty which at a minimum shall be the same
warranty terms, including offersof extended warranties, offered to the
general public. Express warranties shall be included in the contract.
The clause at 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to
Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Commercial Items applies with
the following applicable clauses for paragraph (b): FAR 52.222-26,
Equal Opportunity, FAR 52.222-35, Affirmative Action for Special
Disabled and Vietnam Era Veterans; FAR 52.222-36, Affirmative Action
for Handicapped Workers; FAR 52.222-37, Employment Reports on Special
Disabled Veterans and Veterans of the Vietnam Era; DFARS 252.225-70001,
Buy American Act and Balance of Payment Program; and DFARS
252.225-7012, Preference for Certain Domestic Commodities. The
government intends to make a single award to the responsible offeror
whose bid is the most advantageous to the government concerning price.

Quotes must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. (PDT) 5/23/97, and will
