installation of a dust collection system for equipment located in the
carpenter's shop and building maintenance of Building No. 5; and the
installation of water booster pumps for the male and female
dormitories, and the cafeteria building at the Penobscot Job Corps
Center located in Bangor, Maine. The work also requires miscellaneous
site work including minor grading, paving, sidewalks, landscaping and
fencing. The period of performance for completion of work is 140
calendar days, with substantial completion to be achieved within 112
calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. The estimated cost
range of construction is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Initial
Plans and Specifications will be available on May 27, 1997, only from
the Architect/Engineer firm of The Ames Corporation, 115 Main Street,
Bangor, Maine 04402. Contact Mr. Brian Ames (207) 947-0153 for
additional information. Collect calls will not be accepted. It is
emphasized that requests for plans and specifications should be
directed the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of
requests. Requests will be limited to the issuance of one complete set
per request from any interested party. Plans and specifications will
be made available for pick up at the A/E's office, or may be arranged
for delivery at an additional charge. Any additional shipping and/or
handling charges must be pre-paid and COD request will not be accepted.
Requests must be in writing and will be answered on a first-come,
first-serve basis until the initial supply is exhausted. For additional
sets requested from interested parties, or for requests made after the
initial supply is exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to exceed the
actual cost of reproduction of the IFB documents, plus a shipping
charge based on each individual request (if applicable,) will be
required in order to obtain the IFB documents. Pre-Bid Walk-Thru is
scheduled for June 10, 1997, at 9:00 a.m. (local) at the Center. This
will be the only opportunity to review the job site prior to submission
of bids. Bid-Opening is scheduled for June 26, 1997, at 2:00 p.m.
(local) at the A/E's office. [NOTE: THIS IS A 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET
