58 -- UNDERWATER COMMUNICATION SYSTEM SOL N0025397R0025 DUE 062797 POC Contact Point, Victor Angkico, 360/396-5671 The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Keyport, intends to solicite utilizing the policies and procedures found in FAR Part 12, Commercial Acquisitions, for 2 each, acoustic underwater voice communication systems. The system will be used for voice communications with submerged submarines and must be operationally compatible with the "UQC/WQC" type of acoustic underwater voice communication systems installed on U.S. submarines, including compatible modulation method (single sideband suppressed carrier) and carrier frequencies. The system is to consist of a transceiver with microphone and power supply, a transducer, and all associated cables and connectors. The transmitter and receiver shall operate at a frequency of 5kHz to 45 Khz in 1 Hz steps, accurate to within 5 Hz. The audio bandwidth shall have a lower limit between 250 and 300 Hz and upper limit between 2700 and 3000 Hz, for USB or LSB at 3 db points. Delivery is required no later than 30 Sep 97.
