(301)402-4509 The National Inst. of Health, National Cancer
Institutes, Office of Laboratory Molecular Biology intends to procure
from Panvera Corporation, 545 Science Drive, Madision, Wi. 53711 the
following equipment: Beacon 2000 Full Range FP Instrument, 110 version,
Flourescence Polarization Sample Kit, Buffer Sampler Pack, Repressor
Binding Kit, Speical Interface Filter (pyrene Ex. ) and Special
Interference Filter (pyrene EM). The Beacon 2000 Fluorescence
fluorometer will be used to study the formation and stability of the
closed complexes. The Beacon 2000 Fluoresence Polarization System is
the only equipment available that can measure fluorescence anistropy at
picomolar concentrations of DNA and proteins. The Beacon 2000 machine
uses a fixed filter whereas, others use continuous filters, which
causes of lot of light to be lost, decreasing its sensitivity. The
Beacon Full Range FP can be used at temperatures between 4 degrees and
37 degrees C. **See numbered note 1** NO COLLECT CALLS WILL BE
