Carrington, Contracting Officer E-MAIL: Click here to forward a request
via e-mail, synopsis@contracts.nrl.navy.mil. The Naval Research
Laboratory(NRL) conducts research and development on both high power
fast wave and slow wave amplifiers. Further progress in these programs
require improvements in the accuracy, fidelity, speed, and
user-friendliness of electron gun and depressed collector design.
Contractor support is required for these investigations. The goal of
this program is to develop new techniques that will allow simulation
design tools to approach first-pass design success in the development
of electron gridded and ungrided guns and collectors. Individual tasks
are as follows: Task 1- Develop a basic two-dimensional gun/collector
electrostatic design tool using unstructured numerical grid model;
Task 2- Develop an advanced two-dimensional gun/collector electrostatic
design tool using unstructured numerical grid model; Task 3- Develop an
advanced three-dimensional gun/collector electrostatic design tool
using a structured numerical model; Task 4-Develop an advanced
three-dimensional gun/collector electrostatic design tool using a
deformable or an unstructured numerical grid model; Task 5- validation
of gun and collector design tools; Task 6- Transition, Training, and
Support. The period of performance for the Base effort is 24 months
with two(2) 12 month options. Request for information to this notice
should be submitted in writing to the Naval Research Laboratory, Attn:
Code 3220:JR, 4555 Overlook Avenue, S.W., Washington, DC 20375-5326,
or by forwarding a request to SYNOPSIS@CONTRACTS.NRL.NAVY.MIL.
Facsimile requests may be forwarded to (202) 767-5896 or (202) 767-
6197. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Solicitation closes
thirty (30) days after issuance. See referenced numbered Note 1.
