J -- MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT SOL PR-RT-97-00727 POC Kathryn Peele, Contract Specialist, (919)541-3083 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency intends to make a sole-source contract award to Silicon Graphics, Inc., 200 Westpark Drive, Peachtree City, GA 30269, for a one-year Maintenance Agreement for a molecular modeling computer system consisting of a Power Challenge M server and an INDIGO 2 workstation. The system includes 200MHZ EX 64 MB, 2.0 GB Tape Drive, and 2GB Disk Drive. The system is located at: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Research Triangle Park, NC 27711. The period of coverage is 9/5/97 through 9/4/98. SGI has proprietary knowledge of the hardware and necessary electronics to maintain this system. Therefore, EPA believes that SGI is the only vendor capable of satisfying the requirements stated above. No solicitation is available. All interested parties must provide a written response within 15 days of this announcement, accompanied by a narrative statement of capabililty and qualifications, including detailed technical information sufficient to permit agency analysis in order to determine a bonafide capability to meet the Government's requirements.
