Officer (401)736-1761 Contractor shall provide all labor, materials,
supervision, transportation, and equipment as necessary to provide
technical services in support of the recovery of aids to navigation
(ATON) batteries by a team of Coast Guard personnel and commercial
divers. As the project technical advisor, the contractor is responsible
for and must possess the capability and experience to satisfactorily
carry out functions as follows: (1) Attend a one day briefing at USCG
CEU Providence on standard procedures for the battery recovery project.
(2) Provide Hazardous Communications (HAZCOMS) Training for all
personnel in each geographic recovery area. This training will address
the hazards associated with handling ATON batteries. (3) Determine and
record battery recovery data from the divers during each recovery
operation. (4) Provide written reports which summarize all information
obtained during battery recovery operations. Coast Guard vessels will
be used to support the technical support services contractor and dive
team. Battery recovery operations will be conducted in five, two week
recovery operations commencing on 7/14/97 and ending on 10/03/97.

operational areas: Group Boston, MA; Group Portland, ME; Group Woods
Hole, MA; Group Long Island Sound, NY; and Activities New York. SIC
