Transportation of the batteries to shore and disposal will be the responsibility of the Coast Guard. Coast Guard operated vessels will be used to support the dive team during this project. Battery recovery operations will be conducted in five, two week recovery operations commencing on 7/14/97 and ending on 10/03/97. Locations identified are within the following Coast Guard Group operational areas: Group Boston, MA; Group Portland, ME; Group Woods Hole, MA; Group Long Island Sound, NY; and Activities New York.
