(NEI) Office of Health Education and d Communication, National
Institutes of Health, is seeking qualified small business firms with
the capability of supporting the National Eye Institute's education and
communication program. The following requirements are in addition to
those included in the sources sought synopsis which was published on
April 25, 1997. The contractor shall provide technical support for the
maintenance and enhancement of the NEI Website, which may include the
following tasks: 1) develop and implement a detailed, written Website
Management Plan, 2) convert text and images to be loaded onto the NEI
Website, as directed, 3) provide skilled Web page design and redesign,
as needed, 4) incorporate new elements into the NEI Website including
interactive forms, online databases, galleries of downloadable images,
and audio and video presentations, 5) make recommendations to the NEI
for updating and improving the NEI Website based on technological
advances, 6) ensur e the NEI Website is accessible to individudals with
visual impairment to the greatest extent possible, and 7) work with
NEI's Management Information Systems Branch to ensure compliance with
NEI software and hardware requiremnts. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR
PROPOSAL (RFP) AND NO RFP IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. Small business
concerns that believe that they possess the capabilities to perform
