Vessel shall meet the following main minimum requirements: 1) 65 feet OAL or larger, 2) 500HP continuous output from main engine, 3) completely rigged for mid-water trawling, and 4) vessel shall have been actively used for commercial trawling or reearch in the past 12 months. Crew shall consist of Captain, engineer-fisherman, and cook-fisherman. Captain shall have a minimum five years trawl fishing experience as master of a comparable-sized trawler, and engineer-fisherman shall have a minimum of three years experience in trawl fishing. Vessel charter will be conducted during 10 separate cruises approximately 2.5 days in duration during period 6/97 -- 9/97. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000. All responsible sources which submit a proposal shall be considered by the agency. (0126)
